any link to a show i have tried freezes my computer and has connection problems. Yesterday I thought maybe it had to do with the blackout, but it is happening again this morning. Anyone else??? Just wondering if it is on my end or on the archive end.

hmm...just started a couple of shows in both players and they seem to be working fine. sure you didn't change any browser preferences yesterday. if it persists give us a url example and what OS/browsers you've tried. thanks.

Unfortunately, I can't have Mozilla here at work, IE8 closes faster than the TBTF banks take a bailout! Is anybody working on fixing this yet???

With IE 7 (at the office) - Happens with ANY page with a stream... the browser craps out immediately.

Mac Safari and Firefox, no problem.

I am having the same issue with IE8. Unfortunately when any individual show page is attempted to be loaded, IE8 experiences a problem and shuts down my browser window. Not sure of the issue at hand, but it is happening archive wide.

Also attempted to use IE7 as well, and ran into the same issue.

ok, bumping IE7 and IE8 users up from old player to new player.

there's a minor cosmetic issue where there's excess black space between
the player/controlbar and the playlist -- but otherwise I'm hopeful it should work just fine for folks.

please let me know and VERY sorry for the inconvenience/breakage!
(I was doing very minor work to prepare for throwing a switch from
old player to new player, and obviously I threw in something toxic to IE, sorry!)

THANKS for the detailed reporting!

-tracey

Yep. Working in IE now for me. The new Flow Player is cool. Nice looking Control Panel. Larger fonts in playlist. The playlist autoscrolls each track to the top. Nice color scheme. Hovering over player prompts pop-up "share" feature. It's quite handsome and well integrated. "like"

hopefully clearing any browser cache will now be the fix for you since then it'll get you the new player.

from Tyler, an LMA/etree admin:
open IE, pick 'Tools', then 'delete browsing history', then pick 'delete all' at the bottom.

Never got that far - it crashed the browser completely just as the page started to load.

as of 12:15pm Pacific Time 12/19/12 I opened IE, picked 'Tools' then 'delete browsing history' then picked 'delete all' at the bottom, then went to archive.org, refreshed, and then went to a show page and the 'new' version of the new player loaded fine and no auto-shutdown (the 'new' version seems to have two large buttons on 'hover' the 'share' button and the 'archive symbol' button. The IE issue seems to be fixed!

my box is connected to high-speed internet:
it runs WinXP - current revision

browsers of mine, The Archive's "details pages", and streaming shows:
• Firefox browser 9.0.1 is working fine
• Opera browser 11.60 is working fine
• Internet Exploder browser 8.0.6001.18702 is NOT working! - IE browser CANNOT land (and stay) on any item's Details Page. It gets redirected to 'something'. This is the problem with IE.

I'm using the exact same IE8 I've been using for years. No changes to any of the settings, when I click on a link for a show the whole browser shuts down, so I don't think it's on my end.

Having the same problem here with IE v8 on XP - when I try to open any individual show page, It doesn't finish loading, and then I get the "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." popup.

Here's the error detail:

AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 8.0.6001.18702 ModName: mshtml.dll
ModVer: 8.0.6001.19170 Offset: 00088fc7

Yep, same thing here. Perhaps it's Big Brother exacting revenge for falling in with the "troublemakers" yesterday.

But, it's all good because I got the email from Dead.net that the next limited release will be Dillon Stadium 74. I may put my name in on this one.

I'm in Michigan, it's 9:50 AM EST no tunes yet, starting to get annoyed, need my daily fix of Jerry and the boys..... I'm guessing that no one is quite up yet on the west coast... I'd like to get as much enjoyment out of this site before the whole thing goes dark, it's one of the only things that makes this desk job bearable...
